Hiroshi Imanaga is the Deputy Mayor of the City of Kitakyushu in Japan, where his distinguished professional experience has been of great service. He has an expertise of sustainable urban development and he worked as chief executive in charge of Building and City Planning, Environment, Construction, and etc. He has also lead international cooperation programme including city to city cooperation with Asian cities and collaboration with international organisations such as United Nations, OECD, and European Union, and shared Kitakyushu’s experience on sustainable development at the 2nd UN High Level Political Forum in New York last July. Since last year, the City of Kitakyushu has been supporting the Chinese cities’ activities on air pollution improvement based upon the consensus among East Asian Governments such as Japan, Korea, and China.
