Hyo-sung, Jung, born on Oct 4, 1957, is the Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs at the Seoul Metropolitan Government. He passed the High Civil Service Examination in 1982 and has since worked for the Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG), playing key roles in the city administration as Public Information Officer for Press Bureau of SMG in 1995 and Head of Management and Planning Office for Planning Bureau in 2002. He took charge of the Cheong Gye Stream Restoration Project in 2004. He also held various posts including Director General of Cultural Bureau, Spokesperson for SMG, Director General of Administration Bureau, and Assistant Mayor for Planning and Coordination. Then he was promoted to the current position, the Vice Mayor of Seoul, in July 2014. He completed a doctoral program on Municipal Finance in University of Cologne, Germany. He holds M.A. in administration from Seoul National University, Korea, and B.A. in administration from Sungkyunkwan University, Korea.
